Pleats and Chevrons

So I was pretty lame for Valentine's day this year-I did rock some pink but it wasn't my usual cheese-fest of all reds and pinks.  Also, I had Rand quick take my pictures for the day and didn't check them....big mistake-nearly every single one was a blurry dark disaster so...here is the one picture that came out:
So, I adore this skirt but the Missoni sweater I thrift-ed earlier this month (with the tags still on!!!!) didn't fit me well at all-it's a little big on me and it kinda just hung off me, making me look way wide-ewwww.  Not cool Lori, not cool.  Next time I'll just wear it open over a dress...I think that would work better, I'm so not giving up on it yet!
On a side note:  Can we talk for a second about captchas?!  Am I an effing robot?!  Why can I not read the dang things half the time?!  They annoy the bajeezes out of me..but seriously, is it just me?!
Xo Lori

  1. Love that sweater! Can't believe you found it with the tags still on!!

Also, captchas have gotten worse I think, they used to be easier and lately they seem really annoying and hard to read, I agree!

    1. I know, there was a little cluster of Missoni stuff chilling at the salvation army, my friend and I cleared them out of it though LOL!

There are seriously times I read the captcha and cannot for the life of me figure out what the letters are, then I question my own humanity :)

  3. i can NEVER ever read the captchas. ever. i just sometimes randomly type in frustration. i hate them. so much.

that cardigan goes great with that little skirt. i only got the shoes from the missoni collection myself and i have worn them like twice, if that. i think it would look great open over a dress with a little belt!

    1. I think I need to write the captcha people a letter, or punch them in the face....one of the two...or maybe neither :)

I think that's actually how I'm going to style it next, not sure what dress I'll wear it over-I don't own a ton of brown or other solid dresses so oh well, maybe that just means I need to go thrifting this weekend, darn :)

  5. I think this is an adorable outfit. Some of the Missoni collection was a little too much for me, but I really adore that sweater. It's subtle and sweet. And oh my goodness, I agree with you completely on the Captchas. They're impossible half the time. Oh well...

    1. I agree, a lot of it I actually didn't like but the few things I did want, I wanted hard! I think I have like 4 or 5 things now from the collection and I adore every single one but I'm glad I didn't brave the store the day the collection came out! Xo Lori

    1. Oh man, that makes me think of my first semester of undergrad when a last minute school change meant I register for first year seminar late and ended up in a class with the topic of Androids, Robots and the question of personhood. Yeah. I was one of 3 girls...and had no idea what 99% of the class was about. *Shudders*

  14. The missoni sweater looks nice on you especially with your pink pleated skirt. It actually looks great buttoned up because you get a nice glimpse of the zigzag pattern. Following you too, thanks for dropping y my blog!

    1. Thanks Kira-
I have been continually lucky lately! I think it's just a matter of trying a bunch of different thrift/second hand shops until you find the good ones and then just keep going to those! For the longest time I didn't find much of anything!

  18. OMG the new captchas on Blogger are killing me!!! As are ALL captchas. I think I waste at least 20 minutes per day failing captchas and redoing them.

I LOVE your sweater. Before I read your post I said to myself, "that looks like a Missoni sweater." And then I thought to myself, "how do I even know what a Missioni sweater is?"

Anyway, I'm so glad you found my Why I Blog thing! I was worried I'd sent it to someone else lol. I'll email you my pictures soon. Thanks again for including me!!!!

    1. I feel like I need to lead a captcha revolution-no joke-I have an indescribable amount of frustration with them! And I think you might know Missioni now because EVERYONE went nuts for the target collection (myself included)...even my husband can now spot Missoni LOL!

I was also super happy to find your WIBW! I can't wait to post it-promise if you're ever awesome enough to do any kind of guest post in the future, I won't loose it :) Xo Lori
